TASK 4: MAGAZINE CONTENTS PAGE ANALYSIS: Look at at least five contents pages from  current affairs magazines for your given target market. Embed the videos in a blog post and use the conventions you identified to comment on:

  1. the range of photos used
  2. types of font
  3. settings used
  4. colours
  5. types of characters represented
  6. style of language
  7. other page furniture such as logos, bar code, price
  8. how they showcase the cover model
  9. what sort of lifestyle they promote
  10. how they appeal to the audience

 “If you can’t read the paper, clearly it’s not doing its job. I think the new typefaces, Milo Serif and Econ Sans, work particularly well. They give the pages an airier, less forbidding feel,” said art director Stephen Petch.

 The layout of the website is clean and uncluttered, with a plan white background. Synergy is created immediately with the masthead matching that of the magazine and in the same font,  all capitals and the same shade of red. Dear Moderator, my name is Francesca Western – Kaye Candidate No.1925, and welcome to my A Level Media Studies blog.
